Networking and servers • Re: Ideas for controlling a Raspberry Pi 5 via Android App

Guys,

I have a Pi system running a web server with PHP. This lets me see the results of the processes running on that Pi and, through a bit of creative PHP allows me to shutdown, reboot, rebuild the application from the last source code upload. I've used the standard servers available.

On another Pi I created a very cut down web server from resources/detail found on the web by asking the right questions. This allows be to exec pre-registered command lines that can also receive user parameters from prompts in the served web pages/user input and embed these user values into the commands. Results then get posted in-place of the trigger clauses in the served pages. Its all a bit crude and still at proof of concept stage but it does work very well.

So ... I can control my Pi's using any web browser so no Android App is needed.
