Assuming two 4TB SSDs in RAID1 it seems likely identical drives will wear out at the same time. To mitigate this, use drives from two manufacturers--same capacity but different flash, controller and firmware version.Chances of solid state drives failing at the same time are so much greater. It's this which you need to bear in mind for home use.
If the goal is RAID0 for higher performance, it is possible after exhausting the SLC cache the write speed of QLC flash is slow enough that dividing a single-lane PCIe channel between SSDs improves performance. In my opinion anything above a 1.5 times speedup would be interesting.
In either case I think attaching two 4TB SSDs will need additional power.
